Greg Allman & Cher

Allman Brothers leader, Greg Allman, had a tumultuous relationship with Cher. The two got married in 1975, just three days after Cher’s split with her first husband, Sonny Bono, was finalized. A lot were surprised that the two got hitched, but what was even more surprising was the fact that nine days into their marriage, Cher wanted to dissolve it. One reason behind this was Allman’s alcohol and drug use. Fortunately, Allman sobered up really quickly and was able to win Cher back after a month.

In 1976, Allman filed for separation but turned around after learning that his wife was pregnant. However, their marriage was later dissolved because of issues between the couple. Afterward, Cher found love in the arms of Gene Simmons while Allman had gone his way. Whatever investments the two had for each other did not translate into friendship.
