Debra Messing & Daniel Zelman

Many were quite shocked back in 2011 when Debra Messing’s 20-year relationship with Daniel Zelman came crashing down. Messing and Zelman first met back in 1990 during the time they were about to complete their arts degrees at NYU Tisch. They dated afterward for several years and were engaged by 1998, making it official, and tied the knot in 2002. The couple has a son together, Roman, who was born in 2004. The beginning of their marriage was happy and loving. However, not all was what it seemed when both called it quits in 2011. Messing filed for separation from Zelman, and in 2016, it was officially completed.

Today, both are single, although Messing was once in a relationship with Will Chase, her co-star on Smash, from 2011 to 2014. Despite their breakup, Zelman and Messing remain committed to their child, as they agreed to co-parent Roman as part of their settlement.
