Country music singer Garth Brooks may currently be married to fellow country singer Trisha Yearwood, but he was first married to Sandy Mahl. The former couple first met in a bar, and they both bonded over music, eventually tying the knot in 1986, and have three children together. However, their relationship deteriorated over time because Brooks was gone for weeks at a time because of his music career.

The couple separated in 2001 but remained amicable towards the end. They are still co-parenting their children, and Mahl was even supportive of Brooks’ marriage to Yearwood. The ladies in Brooks’ life are amicable towards one another, which is a good sign as they are all raising their families to the best of their abilities. Fortunately, mortgage payments are not a problem, as Brooks and his wife have a very successful career in music.
