The Avengers’ franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been nothing short of spectacular. The degree of power the cast portrayed in each movie was beyond phenomenal. The franchise is known for its quirky cast and diverse ensemble. The colorful universe is also nothing without its iconic one liners and unforgettable scenes.
The cast really takes credit for bringing all the beloved MCU characters to life and doing them justice. Indeed, the last two Avengers films were a decade in the making, which explains why, compared to other superhero films, the Avengers seemed to be so polished.
Here’s what they had to say on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they shared their favorite moments as Avengers.
Scarlet Johansson — Black Widow — loves a line from Iron Man 2
Scarlet Johansson is quirkier in real life than her character Natasha Romanoff. Her character seems to always know what to say and can take credit for pretty much being well put together. Moreover, when a line in the movie prompted the actress to deliver tactical jargon in front of the camera, she did not disappoint saying, “Bogies converging on the oracle pavilion. Lock and load, the fight’s coming to you” which was shortened later on in the final product. Apparently the director had a hard time understanding it too!
Chris Hemsworth — Thor — loves a line from Thor: Ragnarok
Chris Hemsworth was born to play Thor Odinson, and the character’s childish personality definitely shines through during vital moments in the film — so who knew one of the best moments in the film was created by a child on set? No, not by Chris Hemsworth, but an actual child who visited the set of the film. Apparently a Make-A-Wish child was there and got credited for coming up with the one of the most memorable lines in the movie. During the part where the Hulk and Thor were about to battle in the arena, Thor ultimately recognizes Bruce Banner and lets out the hilarious line, “I know him! He’s a friend from work!” It was just perfect.
Paul Rudd — Antman — loves Captain America’s shield from Civil War
Behind the scenes, Paul Rudd just had to hold the shield — who wouldn’t, given the chance, right? After seeing it on the big screen and knowing how iconic the prop was, the actor went on and held the shield, doing some poses with it. Rudd claimed that even though he was in between shoots and was filming Antman at the time, that moment particularly stood out. Apart from this, when it comes to movie lines, Rudd is credited as a co-writer on the set of his movie, Antman, and is partly responsible for the script and improvised lines in the movie. The cast and crew loved the lines the comedic veteran came up with. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s about time you did.
Robert Downey Jr. — Iron Man — loves the Avengers: Endgame
Robert Downey Jr. appeared in more than seven MCU movies, and he also takes the cake as Tony Stark, the first Avenger. So it is no surprise that the actor expressed enthusiasm shortly after a snippet from the Avengers: Endgame was played during the interview. The scene included Thor, Captain Marvel and Captain America having the last line, saying “Let’s go get this son of a –” – referring to Thanos, the movie’s villain. Shortly after the clip ended, the cameras focused on the cast on the couch. Downey danced on his seat with his fist pumping in the air. Who wouldn’t? After years in the game, Downey was definitely end game!
